I loved California long before I ever lived here. I was watching after school specials where the school hallways were outdoors, imagining my California dream home.
I wrote the song below after my Dad died. I was thinking about him taking a job as a young man to drive cars across the country, sometimes all the way west. I was thinking about the exquisite experience of driving in the California air. It is a piece of heaven.
I have driven all over Los Angeles for all the jobs I’ve had here. (The list is long, and hilarious). I am old enough to have learned the city by a Thomas Guide in the 90s. No GPS or apps. I have forgotten shortcuts now, but I knew them well. I have entered many Los Angeles homes for various jobs; child care, catering, teaching private yoga, even painting custom borders and decluttering.
I realized today I love the people of LA. I’m just disappointed in us.
For falling so hard for an unclear globalist order. For joining an insane fringe culture that wrecks children in various ways, and accepting it as an “officialdom” majority narrative. For prioritizing the protected job, and accepting the silence in you that protects it, when you know what is correct is to speak up against what is wrong. For continuing social and professional relationships by avoiding a list of topics. For ruling out real research EVEN when it comes to the most precious gift a person could experience.
What is happening here is heartbreaking. I pray a rosary about it every day, at least once.
How did this happen?
I think the most informative place to look first is the Frankfurt School, and their influence in this state, beginning in the 50s. You’ll understand why merit based accomplishments and faith based positive energy is becoming so despised. You may understand how we got to this place of prioritizing the rights of transgender people, a faction that is .007% of the population, above all else. A small amount of us. And yet.
Every transitioning person represents a potential $1.3 Million to the pharmaceutical industry over their lifetime of hormones, prescription drugs, therapies, and surgeries.
If you’ve got the time, this is a great starter video on the Frankfurt School. I think that simply learning about these concepts helps to mentally decongest the influence of the west coast. Wisdom follows knowledge and we over here on the left (no pun intended) coast definitely could use all the wisdom we could get.
I so resonate with your beautiful song Amy, and the written words here! Turned 18 and headed to SoCal from my hometown Portland, Oregon (another beautiful city that has suffered). This is exactly how I feel and I wonder what will happen to our beloved state!
So glad you are speaking out about this . Amy- You should join our writing team at CHD- (children’s health defense)- contact net if that appeals???
